Even though there isn’t a real feel to the summer yet, we hope that Saturday, 9th June will be warm enough for an evening in the garden. The garden that we are returning to has hosted quite a few Ladderview nights. On one of those we shared Lukas Moodysson‘s ‘Together‘. This time we’ll be watching another Scandinavian film, ‘Oslo August 31st‘ by Norwegian director Joachim Trier. Running through 24 hours in the life of the main character, the film is an exploration of identity and loneliness in the city that paints a portrait of one generation. On a more general level, Ladderview connection between the film and the chosen space is seen through a summer film within a hopefully summery outdoor setting in the city. On a personal level, we think that some of the emotions and dilemmas that the film portrays might resonate well with the time that we live in as well as with its backdrop.
